BiT library has launched a new library system. The library system shall provide services listed below.
- Lending Services: This service supports material borrowing activity from BiT central and branch Libraries. This service mainly provided for regular students, staffs and academic-member of the institute. The service demands membership of the user to BiT library, thus any user should first registered for membership and acquire card from the library circulation section.
- Catalog View Services: Users can view descriptions of all collections available at the premises of the institute library.
- Digital Collections: through institution intranet, users at the compound of the institute and Bahir Dar University premises can access more than 10,000 scientific e-books on Science and Technology fields.
- Electronic Thesis and Dissertation: These are also essential components of the BiT library system digital collections.
Thus, all staffs can use the BiT Library system via the portal address: http://10.1.56.19 or can use the library service link from http://www.bit.bdu.edu.et. The Library Patron card is ready for all staffs. Hence staffs can take from BiT Main library starting from September 3, 2008 E.C.
