Bahir Dar University, (14 June 2024) Bahir Dar University (BDU) held a ceremony to celebrate the promotion of 18 scholars to the rank of professor. The event recognized the academics' significant contributions to the university's development.
In the event, president  delegate and vice president of academic affairs, Prof. Esay Kebede, congratulated the new professors. Prof. Essey emphasized that the professors are expected to contribute more to solving societal challenges and advising professionally to improve the Ethiopia's education system.
The Vice President of Information and Strategic Communication, Dr. Zewdu Emiru, stated the current shortcomings in the education system. He stressed the collective responsibility of academics to identify solutions and contribute to positive change.
The newly promoted professors shared their experiences and journeys to achieving this academic distinction. They expressed their gratitude for the support they received and they shared valuable insights for aspiring academics.
