Program Description:
The program provides graduates a deep understanding of the fundamental principles, concepts and practices in Highway and transport engineering specialization. The graduate program in the Road and Transport Engineering focuses on; designing highways, evaluation of pavement conditions and their management, designing pavements on problematic soils like expansive soils, etc. Studies in Road and Transportation Engineering include transportation planning, pavement design and management, economic evaluation of transport projects, traffic safety and environment impacts, geometric design and traffic engineering. It allows students to develop abilities for undertaking research including road pavement design and performance, transport planning, traffic system, transportation network system analysis and ,trip generation modelling,

Admission criteria
Applicants should have successfully completed the academic requirements of BSc degree in civil engineering and majoring highway or geo-technical and have passed the entrance exam.
  • Regarding applicants from other related disciplines, the chair will rule on and decide the eligibility of such candidates and if required the candidate must take bridge- courses carefully selected by the professor.
  • Effective written and oral communication is vital for a successful academic carrier, thus foreign applicants may be required to submit results of GRE/TOEFL/IELTS or equivalent for applicants whose undergraduate medium of instruction is not English.
