Dear all Academic staffs and PG Students
You are kindly invited to attend a seminar presentation which will be held on Friday April 7,2017by Professor Menberu Lulu, PhD., SSBB  entitled on:
Lean Six Sigma (LSS)
(Integrated Quality and Productivity Design)

Time: 4:00 PM
Place: room-213

In 1987, engineers at Motorola (U.S.A) created a framework for presenting the prevailing knowledge and practice of quality design, control, and management and called it Six Sigma.  In their book entitled the “Machine that Changed the World (1991)”, two MIT engineers renamed the Toyota Production System (or the Just-in-Time production system) as the Lean Production System.  Lean epitomizes productivity while six sigma pertains to quality. Lean six sigma is an integrated approach to the development of quality and productivity optimized processes and systems. The basic ideas and principles of LEAN SIX SIGMA along with some examples from the presenter’s (yours truly) work will be presented. The ideas and principles covered will include the contributions of Japanese productivity giants such as Shiego Shingo and Genchi Taguchi.
