Bahir Dar Institute of Technology in collaboration with Water Aid Ethiopia hosts a one-day seminar on measuring functionality and performance levels of the ground water

The seminar aims to discuss the results of the first phase of the study under investigation on the functionality and performance levels of the groundwater in some selected sample places of the Amhara region which is part of the ongoing large-scale project being implemented across Ethiopia, Uganda and Malawi and to gain some useful insights and inputs that could further strengthen the effectiveness of the study and open up potential research dimension.

Funded by NERC, ESRC(ECONOMIC &SOCIAL RESEARCH COUNCIL) and UK aid, this project was collaboratively carried out by the British Geological Survey, Water aid, The University of Sheffield, Addis Ababa University, Makarari University, Flinders University, University of Cambridge, University of Malawi, and National Environmental Research Centre.

After the project result was presented to the participating staff and professionals from the concerned academic units and departments of the Bahir Dar University by Dr. Dessie Nidaw, Assoc. prof. of Hydrogeology at Addis Ababa University, insightful comments and suggestions that could further improve the project were given by the discussants.
