The ICT4D Research Center kindly invites the staff of BDU to apply for this call for Research proposals for possible funding in 2017 E.C.. The new research proposal shall address existing problems using ICT-related remedies and have a special relevance to development of the country. The final output of the research must be published in a reputable journal.

We are pleased to announce that ICT4D Research Center, in collaboration with HausaNLP research group of Bayero University Kano, Rewire, Language Technology Group (LT) - Universitรคt Hamburg, Masakhane and LIAAD INESC Technology and Science - Associate Laboratory have successfully secured a Lacuna Fund grant to develop resources for Hate and Offensive Speech detection in 18 African Languages.
