Bahir Dar Energy Center hosted its first international conference on the advancement of green energy technology in 15th & 16th of April 2016 with a MOTTO of shaping our future with green energy. In this special day H.E. Ato Alemayehu Tegenu, the former Minster of Water, Irrigation and Energy, delivered his very important speech about the Ethiopian Energy Policy and research/service gaps that cries out the researchers. In the conference invited speakers from Ethiopia and across the globe came together in Bahir Dar and talked about their current state of the art knowledge in green energy technologies. About thirty high caliber research papers, several poster presentations and energy technology exhibitions were presented to more than 200 conference participants. The conference was one of its first kinds to attract researchers and other stakeholders who are engaged in energy related activities. The conference was a platform where knowledge and experience was effectively shared between the presents of energy related discipline and participants. The conference is a clear indication that shows Ethiopia is highly committed to provide access to green energy technologies. The effort to make sustainable energy accessible and affordable is also supported by researchers and academicians who present their work in such conference.
