Message from APO (Vice Dean)

Congratulations on deciding to study at the Bahir Dar Institute of Technology (BiT) Specially in Faculty of Computing (FC). I would like to take this opportunity to extend a warm welcome to you. By coming to the BiT @ FC, you are joining a truly international community with a strong passion in all fields. Education is a lifelong adventure for many of us. Our curiosity, our desire to develop our fullest potential and the motivation to improve our lives and the lives of those around us, lead us to go beyond the classroom years and become permanent learners. In Technology, the best-prepared professionals are those who constantly update their knowledge and look for opportunities to learn from others and share our best practices.

Scholars welcome to the picturesque Faculty of Computing. We stand here with great pride and honour to serve the community and transfer technical knowledges which helps you to walk parallelly with the rest of the world. In order to achieve this, we inaugurate Four Under Graduate (UG) bachelor of science (Computer Science (CS), Information System (IS), Information Technology (IT) and Software Engineering (SE)) and One bachelor of education in Information Technology and also Three Post Graduate (PG) master of science in CS, IT, SE and Master of Education in IT. In general, with these Nine programs, we deliver regular, extension and summer UG and PG degree programs over decades to crate productive societies in technology and increase the digital literacy to accomplish institutional, governmental and the desire needs of the current world. In the up-to-date world market choosing and learning to become an expert in a Computing Fields is unquestionable; to fulfil these of your desire please come to our faculty it is open for you 24/7 and a tree judge by its fruit.

I look forward to working together with learners, academics, researchers and partner faculties and institutions to continue on a path of enhancement of our education, developing unique skills, new approaches and forward-thinking ventures with an ultimate goal of better serving our communities. One central focus of my mandate is to continue advancing the Education Strategic Plan. Our learners and teachers are the strength and heart of this Faculty. I am honored to have the opportunity to help shape our journey in some small way, so that we can reach our full potential.
