The Department of Applied Human Nutrition was launched in 2013 in the Faculty of Chemical and Food Engineering to train students in BSc and MSc programs in Applied Human Nutrition. The department was opened to contribute its part for the high demand of professionals who are trained in human nutrition in Ethiopia. Currently, the department has 19 staff members which comprise one professor, two assistant professors and 16 MSc and BSc holders. The department is training BSc students in regular and distance programs with a total number of 441 and MSc students in four programs; regular, extension, summer and a weekend program in Addis Ababa with a total number of 123 students.
