The Faculty of Civil and Water Recourse Engineering, BiT-BDU has launched training on road design, analysis and design of bridge and drainage structures.

The Faculty of Civil and Water Recourse Engineering at Bahir Dar Institute of Technology-Bahir Dar University has begun training in road design using Autodesk Civil 3D, as well as bridge and drainage structure analysis and design using CSI Bridge Software. Experts from the Ministry of Urban and Infrastructure of various regions will receive this training for 20 days.
Dr. Mitiku Damtie, Dean of the Faculty of Civil and Water Resource Engineering, provided an overview of the faculty, stating that the faculty is currently offering a BSc in Civil, Hydraulics, and Irrigation Engineering, as well as eight MSc and eight PhD programs. He also stated that, in addition to teaching and learning, the faculty is actively involved in research and innovation, community service, cooperation and partnership, and is highly engaged in the community through various projects and trainings.
Following that, Dr. Bimrew Tamrat, scientific director of Bahir Dar Institute of Technology, gave an opening speech in which he stated that such trainings can have a huge impact on the country's strategy development if they are implemented in real life. He also encouraged the trainees to use this training to help unite Africa through road construction that meets the established standards.
