The 7th ICT4DA International Conference Opens at BiT-BDU [November 11, 2025 Bahir Dar, ISC/BiT]

The 7th International Conference on ICT for Development in Africa (ICT4DA-2025) officially opened today at the Bahir Dar Institute of Technology (BiT), Bahir Dar University, under the central theme “Digital Innovation for Sustainable and Inclusive Economic Growth.”
The two-day event, held from November 21–22, 2025, brings together researchers, academics, ICT industry experts, government officials, and development partners from across Africa and beyond.
The opening program was attended by Bahir Dar University’s top management, keynote speakers, international researchers, and BiT-BDU stakeholders. Participants are engaging in rich academic discussions, knowledge exchange, and collaborative networking aimed at advancing scientific and technological innovation.
Organized by the ICT4D Research Center of BiT, the conference serves as a platform to share innovative ideas, strengthen partnerships, and promote research in Information and Communication Technologies for development. Over the past eight years, ICT4DA has successfully hosted six conferences, publishing more than 200 conference and workshop papers. Proceedings from the first two editions were published by Springer, while later editions have been indexed on IEEE Xplore.
This year’s conference is technically sponsored by the IEEE African Council and IEEE Sub-Section, and the ICT4DA-2025 proceedings will also be published on IEEE Xplore. Distinguished speakers from Europe and Africa are delivering keynote speeches on cutting-edge developments in ICT.
The program features keynote addresses, panel discussions, and special sessions. A total of 125 research papers were submitted, of which 47 peer-reviewed papers were accepted for presentation in parallel and special sessions. The rigorous review process involved 119 reviewers from 47 institutions.
