Research Director Office

Bahr Dar institute of Technology, Research Office was working under the same director with community service and Graduate School of Bahr Dar institute of Technology until 2021. Now the office have its own Director and an officer.

Duties and Responsibilities of the office includes

  • Coordinate and facilitate research activities (prepare call for proposals, allocate fund for proposals, research follow-up);
  • Manage the proper administration of research and development funds
  • Monitors the performance of project activities in the institute
  • Establish a system of plagiarism detection method
  • Ensure the publications standards as per the university policy
  • Support the production of journals, proceedings, periodicals and other scholarly publications byacademicians
  • Develop, recommend and implement research policies
  • Promote the development of appropriate incentive schemes in the University for researchers;
  • Identify thematic research areas;
  • Prepare publication incentives to encourage researchers

School of Graduate Studies of the institute runs 38Msc and 26 PhD programs with 2,007 postgraduate students. The school involves meeting the research excellence of the institute through postgraduate students and staffs by doing research targeting on sustainable development goals and innovation.

  • General objective
  1. Identify and prioritize the technological demands of the economy that contributes to the development of the economic corridor and intiate new curricula.
  2. Develop appropriate technological packages based on the demand.
  3. Create and Promote staff awareness on reaserch projects.
  4. Making the graduate training a well-integrated program with research and community services

  • Admission Requirements for MSc programs

For enrolment in the Master’s program at BiT:

  1. All applicants must have completed a bachelor’s degree in the specific/related field(s) of study from a recognized degree offering institute;
  2. All applicants must meet the selection criteria satisfactorily, which may include the entrance examination to be administered by the concerned academic units;
