Bahir Dar University has celebrated the 2014/2015 academic year graduation day on Saturday, 04 July, 2015 at the University Stadium. The university graduate a total of 7523 students among these 1249 are from Bahir Dar Institute of Technology.
The BiT Senate has approved the 2014/2015 academic year graduation on Tuesday, 29 June, 2015. The Senate has critically observed the list of graduating students from the five Faculties under the institute, and then it approved the graduation for 1146 Undergraduate and 103 Postgraduate students. The detail list of graduated students in each Faculty is shown in the table below.
Faculty of Chemical and Food Engineering at Bahir Dar Institute of Technology has developed the curriculum to launch MSc program in Sugar Technology. The Faculty has organized national workshop to evaluate and discuss on the draft curriculum with different professionals invited from Ethiopian Sugar Corporation, Addis Ababa Institute of Technology, Semera University, and other national and regional offices. During the workshop, different constructive comments and ideas were raised on detail contents of the curriculum by the participants and criticized well for further enrichment.

The institute has conducted consultative workshop on five year strategic plan preparation and development. The aim of the workshop was to discuss the strategic plan done by the committee. The deans, directors, chair holders and other representatives were participated in the workshop.
Faculty of Civil and Water Resource Engineering at Bahir Dar Institute of Technology –Bahir Dar University has done the community service activity on design, consultancy and supervision of 25 Meter long Bridge construction in Mecha Woreda at Jemma River. The Bridge construction work inauguration ceremony was done on 18 May, 2015 by the ANRS Vice President and other higher officials of the region.
Any Industry is an assembly of 4Ms such as: Material, Machines, and Methods guided by Men.The non-optimal use of resources by industries ultimately leads to their depletion. At such critical instances, an Industrial Engineer aids the industry to deploy scientific tools and innovative methods of optimally utilizing such scarce resources and eventually simplify human welfare.
