Professor Tesfaye Bitfu, Alumnus of BiT-BDU has presented seminar on Health benefits of Food Vs Drugs: Diabetes, Inflammation and Cancer.

Professor Tesfaye started his seminar speech with his academic and innovation journey which started 58 years ago in Bahir Dar University. He also spoke about the education system and contribution of Emperor Haile Selassie. After extending his academics outside Ethiopia he participated in various research and teaching activities and later went to abroad. According to his speech, eating doesn’t imply consuming expensive food. Hence, he has done research and earned enormous patents in areas of Diabetes, Cancer, Migraine and more. Quite recently he worked on Korean grand for university research in Ethiopia. He also spoke about the importance of traditional medicine and biodiversity in Ethiopia. In the meantime, he presented the measurement techniques for diabetes and food contribution for diabetes. He is currently working on the national collection and investigation of Therapeutic microorganisms and other projects.
