Department of Logistics and Supply  Chain management at Business and Economics College of Bahir Dar University holds the 7th National Logistics and Supply Chain Management Conference on the theme “Towards Circular Economy: Green Logistics and Sustainable Chain Practice in Ethiopia” at UNISON Hotel, Bahir Dar.
In his welcoming speech, Dr. Abebe Wale, Dean of the College of Business and Economics stated that the College has finalized a document to establish Business and Economics Research Institute and Support the sector in a sustainable manner. He added the college has also planned to design new curricula in an effort to provide management and leadership training programs. He said that the workshop should promote dialogue and cooperation among researchers, industries and policy makers to design logistics strategies and solutions to problems in a scientific manner.
Speaking at the workshop, Bahir Dar University's Research and Community Service Vice President Prof. Enyew Adgo emphasized that since the transportation sector has the potential to pollute the environment, it is important and timely to hold green logistics and sustainable supply chain management workshops in order to generate and use research results that save resources and energy as much as possible.  The professor added Bahir Dar University is working towards becoming a research university and to achieve it, the university needs resources, a strong management system, talented students, partnerships and trained teachers.
At the end of the workshop, partner organizations that contributed to the success of the discussion: the KuHNE Foundation in Germany and the Elias Melake Foundation and to alumni of the department who shared their expertise and experiences to conference participants received certificates from Prof. Essey Kebede, on behalf of the president office of the University.
