About the Speaker

Dr. Sisay Asres is one of a senior lecturer with substantial practical experience in Bahir Dar Institution of technology, Irrigation Engineering and management Chair. Born in a rural area of Kilil Rufael in 1970 in the then province of Gondar near the city of Gondar, Ethiopia. He attended his High School studies at the city of Azezo, and then joined Alemaya University of Agriculture (AUA) in 1990 and award his BSc degree in Agricultural engineering in 1994 G.C.  After working in Amhara Bureau of Water Resource Development for 16 years for the positions irrigation design engineer and director of irrigation design and construction division, he continued attending his M.Sc study in Water Resources Engineering and was awarded in 2012 at Bahir Dar University. He finally joined Bahir Dar Institute of Technology (BIT) of the Faculty of civil and water resource engineering in 2015 and continued his PhD study in 2016 in the field of water resource engineering and management (WREM) at Bahir Dar Institute of Technology (BIT) and awarded his PhD degree in 2021.
