About the Presenter

Bitew Genet Tassew was born in Muksi Mecheal Kebele, Dangila Woreda, Gojjam, Ethiopia. He started his primary (Grade 1-6) school life in Afessa Primary School; He learned Grade 7 and 8 in Mengesha Jemberie Junior Secondary School and Grade 9-12 in Dangila Senior Secondary School. He joined Haromaya University in 1994 and completed his B. Sc. Degree in Agricultural Engineering in July, 1999. He has been working in Bureau of Agriculture of Amhara Region as a Soil and Water Expert for one and half years and as Water Management Researcher in Amhara Region Agricultural Research Institute for 5 years. He received his M.Sc. degree in Soil and Water Engineering specialization in Irrigation Engineering from Haromaya University in July, 2005. He joined Bahir Dar Institute of Technology, Bahir Dar Univrsity as a lecture in April 2006. He worked as a lecturer (April 2006 to January 2015) and assistant professor (since February 2015) in Bahir Dar Institute of Technology, Bahir Dar Univrsity.  Currently, he is a PhD candidate in Faculty of Civil and Water Resources Engineering, Bahir Dar Institute of Technology, Bahir Dar University, to pursue his PhD study in Water Resources Engineering and Management. His future research interest is Hydrological and hydraulic modelling, water management, climate change and the like.
