Call for Application for Membership ICT4D

ICT4D research center is currently calling for applications for membership for the Mobile and Wireless Communication, Natural Language Processing and E-service research groups under the research center. The applicants must have MSC degree, publication and experience in research related to one of the above mentioned research groups. The applicants are required to write a concept note on listed topics under each research group. The following are the list of research groups and research topics for 2010 academic year.

Natural Language Processing                               

  • Geez Text/Speech Corpus
  • Develop the semantics model for Amharic/Geez language
  • Build a computational model for the phonology of Amharic/Geez language
  • Develop a Amharic/Geez speech tagger

Mobile and Wireless Communication

  • Develop applications in local language to help with easy access to resources on the internet
  • Adaption mobile systems for disabled users in local context
  • Help children learn their culture and heritage through localized applications

E-Service

  • Design & Develop Mobile/e-Health/e-Agriculture Applications to Improve Health Care Service Delivery System/agriculture e system.
  • Design and Develop Decision support System for the Health Care and or Agriculture Sector

ከአሁን በፊት ዩኒቨርሲቲው ባወጣው ማስታወቂያ መሰረት ከ03/11/2009 ዓ.ም እስከ 12/12/2009 ዓ.ም ድረስ ለሶስተኛ እና ሁለተኛ ዲግሪ ምዝገባ ያካሄድን እና በ19/12/2009 ዓ.ም ፈተና ያሰጠን መሆናችን ይታወቃል፡፡ ይሁን እንጅ በተለያዬ ምክንያት ሳይመዘገቡ የቀሩ የማህበረሰብ ክፍሎችን እድል ለመስጠት ሲባል ተጨማሪ ማስታወቂያ በማውጣት አመልካቾችን መመዝገብ ታምኖበታል፡፡ ስለሆነም ከአሁን በፊት ለሶስተኛ እና ሁለተኛ ዲግር በወጡት ዲፓርትመንቶች መመዝገብ ለምትፈልጉ አመልካቾች የምዝገባ ቀን ከነሀሴ 30 እስከ ጳጉሜ 01/2009 ዓ.ም መሆኑን አውቃችሁ በዕለቱ በመመዝገብ ጳጉሜ 03/2009 ዓ.ም ፈተና እንድትወስዱ እናሳስባለን፡፡

  • ለምዝገባ ስትመጡ የትምህርት ማስረጃችሁን ኦሪጅናል እና ፎቶ ኮፒ

Call for Technology Transfer and Community Service Proposals

The Office of the University  Industry  Linkage and  Community Services calls for proposals of Technology  Transfer  and Community Services till Hamline 30,2009 for 2010 E.C Budget year.

The Technologies and services are expected to be

  1. Developed, adopted, improved/Modified or amended by staffs and students.
  2. Engagement of Interdisciplinary team (strongly recommended)
  3. Small to intermediate in their technology/service level
  4. Reliable to be transferred and serve the community

Call for New Research Proposal

All BiT academic staffs are kindly invited for grant application of new research proposals.  It is our great pleasure to remind you that the proposal shall address the key research competence areas (Thematic Areas) identified by BiT.

Research proposals must be submitted to the School of Research and Graduate Studies  before 15 July, 2017.

Eligibility for proposal writing:

·       Be staff member of BiT except MSc students

·       Researcher who submitted all previous BiT funded research projects, in case if s(he) was funded in the previous budget years

Requirements

·       The proposal shall involve two or more researchers

·       Research proposals must be within the thematic areas identified by BiT

·       The written proposal must be according to the format provided

Note: Multidisciplinary and Group research proposals are encouraged.
